We attended Connecting for Children & Families’ Vision of Hope dinner honoring Amica Mutual Insurance Company. Amica received CCF’s “Community Champion Award” honoring their longtime partnership with CCF.
Additionally, CCF honored Dr. Patrick McGee, Superintendent of the Woonsocket Education Department. Dr. McGee received the “Outstanding Community Leader Award” in recognition of his work to strengthen families in our community.
The event featured a very impressive silent auction, overlooked the beautiful greens of Kirkbrae Country Club. As a bonus, each table had a decorated pumpkin that children in the preschool program helped to decorate! Honorary Event Chair, Gary E. Furtado, President and CEO of Navigant Credit Union welcomed everyone to the dinner and made the opening speech while former Voice contestant Emily Luther emceed the event
Not only did we celebrate Amica and Dr. McGee’s dedication to the community, but during the dinner CCF raised over $6,000 in donations. This money will support their ongoing quest to give children the basic building blocks they need for a successful life. Supporting this event means helping children get the start they deserve through proven early childhood programs, providing students in grades K-12 with after-school enrichment and summer camps, and supporting families through workforce training and financial stability programs. Children who participate in these programs receive the critical support every child needs to succeed in school and in life. Together we can help CCF provide a platform of stability for families to grow strong roots in Northern Rhode Island community.
We’re honored to work with such a great organization like CCF. At the end of the day, it’s great to know that they will continue to give hope to children and families who need it.
